Been busy with a lot of things lately but one of them was creating a new print. Sometimes it’s good when people order something specific – it gets your creativity flowing. This new print I (Sandra) made for someone who wanted something black and white to hang up in the kitchen, and I’m quite happy with how it turned out. I think it would work in softer colors as well – off to try that next!
Someone challenged me lately to think about where the ideas and inspiration to create something come from and how you decide that your work – whatever it might be – is finished and good. It was quite interesting to think about it analytically since mostly it’s just something that comes naturally to creative people (and we are all creative in our own way), so try it out next time your in your creative flow. : ) Think about what drives you to create – you might have some interesting insights. What I often notice is that other peoples’ creativity and creations inspire me to do more and to try harder, and that I love if other people get inspired by me as well. Many times I just feel a need to create, anything, even if I don’t have a specific idea or any clue what to do. When it comes to deciding when a work is finished, for me is often just a feeling, an instinct maybe. Something that says it’s good and pleasing to the eye and doesn’t need further work.
How does it go for you?
