Greetings from Finland! Hope you have had a wonderful Christmas time. We’ve had a long and relaxing vacation but it’s coming to an end… So time to start going through the memories caught on film (or digital pixels) so we don’t have to let go of the holiday mood just yet. : )
One thing I really miss living in Brussels is the sea. So every time we come to Finland that’s one of the first places we head out to with our cameras. There’s just something about that vast open space that makes me calm and peaceful. Looking out on the sea gives me the feeling that I can go anywhere.
Fäboda (in Jakobstad) is a favourite place in both summer and winter. Usually the sea is frozen at this time of the year but due to a mild start of the winter we caught it without its icy cover this time.
Ruben wanted me to say that it was minus 50 degrees Celsius and a raging snowstorm… But in reality on this day it was just a few degrees on minus and some lonely snowflakes came dancing down from the sky. The coldest it got while were here was around 20 degrees below zero I think, which is cold enough for us. ; )
Wishing you all a happy new year!
Stay tuned for the rest of our holiday pictures, Lapland coming up soon! ; )
